YOUR ID IS FREE

On April 29th, 2026, on International Dance Day, I joined 115+ leaders from across our community in a Zoom room filled with brave, honest testimony. We heard  powerful personal stories from Sophia Lucia and a heartfelt endorsement from industry icon Brian Friedman. 

I am grateful for those voices, and I want everyone who wasn’t in the room to hear this plainly and firmly: ICDR’s core danceID (and the verification that unlocks it) is now free, and will remain free. 

We have removed the baseline cost entirely for this season, 2026–2027, and 2027–2028.   We heard you: the baseline cost was a barrier, so we removed it. This follows direct feedback from events, studios, families, and partners and comes as we surpass 22,000 verifications. Safety is not a paid feature; it is a right.

To reduce friction and keep building trust, we have implemented the following: 

• Manual verifications are now available to address ID sensitivities and accessibility

• Participation is optional because trust must be earned not forced

• We’ve published a new Process Video and an expanded Trust Center detailing our data practices and global compliance standards.

There is no looming subscription for baseline protections. Long‑term sustainability will come from optional ancillary services like participant accident insurance, verified livestream protections, and other industry‑scale solutions so that the core safety remains accessible and free.

This was not an easy financial decision, but it was the right one. ICDR addresses real privacy and media concerns today while building a shield against the risks of tomorrow. 

Dance families and studios are the driving heart of this movement; you steward the trust we protect. We are simply here to provide the tools to strengthen the remarkable work you and the larger industry are already doing.
